Welcome to the web site of the Smoky Mountain Quilters of Tennessee. We hope your visit with us is pleasant, entertaining and informative. We would like to take a few moments to acquaint you with our organization. This site describes the various facets of our organization, such as our annual quilt show, projects benefiting the local Ronald McDonald House and other community service, meeting and event schedules, membership information, a gallery of member quilts, newsletters, library information, and guild activities.
Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month except in May. A 6:30 p.m. "social time " precedes the formal portion of the meeting which begins at 7:00 p.m. There are two types of meetings: (1) Business meetings, with a following informative program, and (2) Sew 'N Tell meetings which are informal gatherings where members share works in progress or any quilt related items of interest and have the opportunity to become acquainted with other members and guests. Dues are $20 per calendar year and can be mailed to:

Our meetings are held at the Messiah Lutheran Church, at the intersection of Papermill and Kingston Pike. (Across from PF Changs). http://www.messiahknoxville.org/
The newsletter is published five times per year -- prior to the general business meetings -- informing our members of the programs that will take place at the next meeting. Newsletter deadlines are Fridays following the board meetings. Members are encouraged to submit articles and information for publication. Complementary copies of the newsletter are available at meetings. Newsletter staff: Becky Harriss: becky@frogbritches.com
SMQ maintains an extensive collection of over 350 quilting books, videos, and periodicals. The library is housed at Mammaw's Thimble on Papermill Road. Members can browse the library during Mammaw's normal business hours and check out books during this time. Since the library is stored in Mammaw's classrom, the only exception to visiting the library is that we ask members not to interrupt classes to visit the library. You may want to call in advance to confirm there is no class in session.
Member inquiries regarding the library can be addressed to the website or Jane Dunham at jcdunham@comcast.net. A complete listing of the books can be downloaded.
Members wearing name tags, who have signed the roll book, are eligible for a door prize given at the business meeting. Members may purchase name tags with the SMQ logo at a cost of $9.00 for a pin type tag and $10.50 for a magnetic tag. Please see the Membership Chairman.
Enamel pins of the SMQ logo are also available for $6.00 from the membership chairman.
