Simple Techniques to Become a Successful Machine Piecer

This class is appropriate for a beginner quilter. You will learn the techniques of accurate piecing, squaring up blocks, and adding a border and binding. The class is designed to teach basic quilting skills focusing on the process, which will improve your end results.

Supplies Needed:
- Sewing machine in good working order
- 1 yard light assorted cotton fabrics (use your stash)
- 1 yard dark assorted cotton fabrics (use your stash)
- Rotary cutter and mat
- 6" x 24" acrylic ruler that has 1/4" and 1/8" markings
- Square ruler for squaring up blocks
- Tape measure
- 12" ruler
- Scissors
- 1/4" foot
- Walking foot (if you have it, and can use it with your machine)
- Pins (super fine, so minimal distortion)
- Ironing board and iron (optional -- classroom will have two available)
- Marking pencils/markers, etc.
- Sewing machine needles for piecing
- Thread
- Seam Ripper
